They want to relieve pressure, not feel pressured to buy. And I’ll be honest, I’m the first to unfollow a brand who doesn’t offer me any value and who only asks for sales. I’m sure you’re the same way.

Don’t be that brand.

That’s exactly why content marketing is so powerful. You want to stay top of mind with your audience to build your “know” factor, but you don’t want to constantly ask for the sale, because you’ll either disengage your audience or lose them altogether - and either of those is detrimental on social media.

Give your audience value. Make them feel validated. But do it in a way that relates back to your products and services.

It’s okay to ask for the sale - how else can you pay the bills to keep the business running, much less turn a profit? You have to ask for the sale. But you need to warm your audience up by sharing your expertise in your industry and related topics or providing inspiration in some way.

You always win when you show up, because you won attention. So don’t get lost in always trying to promote, promote, promote. Relax. Share some tips and tricks. Give your audience fun facts to mull over. Let them keep recognizing your name and your brand. Your job is to keep showing up for them every single day, THEN ask them to show up for you. Invest in building your “know, like, and trust” factor - it’s the long game, and it will take you FAR.
